Pros and Cons of PU Leather and Genuine Leather

PU leather and genuine leather are two materials commonly used in the production of leather products, they have some advantages and disadvantages in appearance, texture, durability and other aspects. In this article, we will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of  synthetic Pu Leather and genuine leather from various aspects.

First of all, let’s learn about Premium Crafted Leather (Pu), which is a synthetic leather made by applying a polyurethane coating to the substrate.Epu Leather has a similar appearance to leather, with a wide range of color options and adjustability. It is easier to clean, more resistant to wear and tear than real leather and is relatively inexpensive. In addition, Epu Synthetic Leather has the flexibility to adjust the texture and thickness of the material during the manufacturing process.

However, 100% Pu Synthetic Leather also has some shortcomings. First of all, although the appearance of Nappa Pu Leather looks very much like natural leather, there is a certain gap between the texture and genuine leather. the feel of China Pu Synthetic Leather Fabric is relatively hard and does not have the soft feel of genuine leather. Secondly, artificial  PU leather has relatively low durability and is prone to abrasion and scratches, so it may have a shorter service life. Finally, faux PU leather China is also inferior to real leather in terms of breathability and is prone to a stuffy feeling, making it unsuitable for use in the hot summer months.

Next, let’s look at the advantages and disadvantages of genuine leather. Traditional leather is the leather material made from animal skin after treatment. Natural leather has a unique natural luster and elegant texture, and its grain and pattern are one of a kind. Real leather has good breathability and moisture absorption making it more comfortable and especially suitable for use in a variety of climates. In addition, traditional natural leather is very durable and long-lasting, and can be used for many years without showing visible signs of deterioration.

However, there are some drawbacks to traditional genuine leather. Firstly, leather is relatively expensive and costs more to make, so leather products are usually much more expensive than Animal Friendly Pu Leather. Secondly, leather is more susceptible to weather and humidity than Crafted Leather Pu, easy to deform and hair, requiring regular maintenance. In addition, the softness of leather makes it easy to be scratched and punctured.

To summarize, faux PU leather and genuine leather have their own advantages and disadvantages. Durable Pu Leatherr may be a better choice for consumers who are looking for inexpensive or easy-to-clean products. For consumers who value texture, durability, and breathability, leather is a more desirable choice. Of course, the final choice should be based on the consumer’s personal preferences and needs. Regardless of which material is chosen, proper care and usage is important to extend the life and maintain its good looks and performance.
