Embossing process in synthetic leather processing

Leather is a high-grade and versatile material that is widely used in the manufacture of high-quality garments, footwear, handbags, and home accessories due to its unique texture and aesthetic appearance. A major part of leather processing is the design and production of the various styles of patterns and textures that make leather products unique. Among them, embossing technology is one of the most widely used leather processing technology.

First embossing technology

Leather embossing refers to the pattern printed on the surface of leather by pressing machine or manual hand method during the processing. Embossing technology can be used for various colors of leather fabric, as well as various shapes and sizes of surface texture. Before embossing, the surface of the faux leather must undergo a finishing, de-burring and scraping process to ensure that the surface of the artificial leather is sufficiently smooth

At present, the common embossing machine on the market are through the heat and pressure to realize embossing, for example, the use of hydraulic press pressure on the traditional leather for uniform pressure, spray hot water rolling, can be printed on the leather pattern. Some embossing machine can also replace the mold, to achieve diversified development and design, so as to produce different styles and patterns of leather products.

Second embossing technology

Embossing refers to the PU leather surface to create the effect of having grain and pattern. In the embossing process, first of all need to apply a layer of drawing line paste lightly on the PVC leather surface or coated with a thin layer of coloring agent, and then with different patterns of the pressing plate according to the fixed pressure and time for pressing.

In the embossing process, some mechanical, physical or chemical means can also be used to increase the ductility and softness of the leather. For example, in the production of soft leather, it is usually necessary to add a more stable pressure on the leather, while in the production of high temperature heat treatment or the addition of chemical raw materials and other methods will be used.

There are also other methods of creating embossed effects, such as the traditional technique of hand pressing. Hand embossing creates a finer grain and allows for a great degree of customization. In addition, the surface of the leather produced is more natural and organic due to the use of traditional handcrafts, and can result in a better visual effect.
